Grade Promotion Policy
Throughout the year, teachers are to carefully monitor student progress, taking an active role in supporting student completion of learning goals. Teachers are expected to alert the Admin Team as soon as they anticipate a student is having trouble meeting the goals for a course. They can work together to create additional support for the student and monitor their progress to ensure successful completion of learning goals.
If a student appears to be struggling to meet the goals of their course(s) (at their grade level), their teacher, with the assistance of the Admin Team, will determine if this student needs an IEP, and their learning plan can be revised to ensure success for the student in the current and coming school year.
If, at the end of the year a student (k-9) is unable to complete learning goals in a course or courses, their teacher will document this in the summative final report. If the student remains with Pathways this knowledge will be incorporated in planning a successful program for the following school year. Where applicable the student will receive additional Learning Support to ensure success.
